About the Artist
Art has been Jackie Meier's language since childhood — a way of being seen, of making meaning, and of offering something true to the world. Today she works as a mixed-media artist from her studio in Port Clinton, Ohio, creating textured acrylic paintings that pulse with color, emotion, and life.
Her path to full-time studio practice winds through a B.A. in Art Education, a career as a graphic designer and art director, years of university-level teaching, and completion of the Mastery Program at the Milan Art Institute. That layered background gives her work both technical rigor and a deeply personal voice.
Jackie's paintings have been recognized at juried exhibitions and are collected by art lovers across the Midwest. She shows her work at festivals throughout the region and offers painting classes in her studio. She lives in Bowling Green with her husband Donald and her rescue dog Louie, and maintains two studios — a personal studio at home and a larger gallery, classroom, and studio space in Port Clinton, Ohio.
Jackie recently won an award for the best wild animal painting at the juried art exhibit “Artists 4 Animals” in Bowling Green, Ohio. Her painting, titled “Wolf” is a captivating depiction of a wolf’s face, rendered in a striking abstract-expressionist style.
